Description
A smooth and creamy vegan buttercream frosting made with softened vegan butter, pure maple syrup, powdered sugar, and dairy-free milk. Perfect for piping and decorating cakes, cupcakes, and other desserts, this frosting is naturally dairy-free and easy to whip up in just a few minutes.
Ingredients
Frosting Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted vegan butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon dairy-free milk, as needed
Instructions
- Mix Butter and Maple Syrup: Add the softened vegan butter and pure maple syrup to the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix on high speed until the mixture becomes completely creamy and smooth, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Scrape Bowl Sides: Use a spatula to scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl as needed to ensure all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Add Powdered Sugar: Slowly add the powdered sugar to the bowl while mixing at low speed. Continue mixing until the sugar is fully combined and the frosting is smooth.
- Adjust Consistency with Milk: Add in about one tablespoon of dairy-free milk to loosen the frosting. For a thinner consistency, add more milk a little at a time until desired texture is reached.
- Frost Your Dessert: Transfer the vegan buttercream frosting to a piping bag and use it to frost cakes, cupcakes, or other desserts as desired.
Notes
- Use vegan butter that is softened at room temperature for easier mixing and a smoother texture.
- If you prefer a sweeter frosting, you can add a little more maple syrup according to your taste.
- For different flavors, you can add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or other flavorings.
- Adjust the amount of dairy-free milk to achieve your preferred frosting consistency; less for thicker frosting, more for thinner.
- This frosting is best used immediately but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Bring back to room temperature and re-whip before use.
