Description

A smooth and creamy vegan buttercream frosting made with softened vegan butter, pure maple syrup, powdered sugar, and dairy-free milk. Perfect for piping and decorating cakes, cupcakes, and other desserts, this frosting is naturally dairy-free and easy to whip up in just a few minutes.

Ingredients

Frosting Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted vegan butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dairy-free milk, as needed

Instructions

  1. Mix Butter and Maple Syrup: Add the softened vegan butter and pure maple syrup to the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix on high speed until the mixture becomes completely creamy and smooth, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes.
  2. Scrape Bowl Sides: Use a spatula to scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl as needed to ensure all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Add Powdered Sugar: Slowly add the powdered sugar to the bowl while mixing at low speed. Continue mixing until the sugar is fully combined and the frosting is smooth.
  4. Adjust Consistency with Milk: Add in about one tablespoon of dairy-free milk to loosen the frosting. For a thinner consistency, add more milk a little at a time until desired texture is reached.
  5. Frost Your Dessert: Transfer the vegan buttercream frosting to a piping bag and use it to frost cakes, cupcakes, or other desserts as desired.

Notes

  • Use vegan butter that is softened at room temperature for easier mixing and a smoother texture.
  • If you prefer a sweeter frosting, you can add a little more maple syrup according to your taste.
  • For different flavors, you can add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or other flavorings.
  • Adjust the amount of dairy-free milk to achieve your preferred frosting consistency; less for thicker frosting, more for thinner.
  • This frosting is best used immediately but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Bring back to room temperature and re-whip before use.
