Description

Delight in the unique twist on classic brownies with these vibrant and flavorful Ube Brownies. Combining creamy white chocolate and fragrant ube extract, these gluten-free treats offer a soft, moist texture and a beautiful purple hue, perfect for a sweet snack or dessert.

Ingredients

Brownie Batter

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 ⅓ cups white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ube extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup gluten free flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch by 8-inch baking pan with parchment paper to ensure easy removal of the brownies.
  2. Combine Butter and White Chocolate: In a mixing bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter and white chocolate chips. Stir together until you have a creamy and smooth mixture. If the chocolate chips have not fully melted, briefly microwave in short intervals to assist melting.
  3. Add Sugar, Ube Extract, and Eggs: Stir in the granulated sugar, ube extract, and eggs until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
  4. Incorporate Gluten-Free Flour: Gradually add the gluten-free flour to the bowl and stir until you achieve a creamy, consistent brownie batter without lumps.
  5. Transfer Batter to Pan: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly to form a smooth, uniform layer.
  6. Bake: Bake the brownies in the preheated oven for 24 to 27 minutes. To check doneness, insert a toothpick into the center; it should come out with a few moist crumbs but not wet batter.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove the pan from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan for about an hour. Once cooled, slice into 16 squares and serve.

Notes

  • You can substitute regular all-purpose flour if gluten-free flour is unavailable, but texture may vary.
  • Adjust baking time slightly if using a different pan size; a thicker batter layer may require longer baking.
  • For a more intense ube flavor and color, increase ube extract up to 1.5 tsp.
  • Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
