Description

A refreshing and easy-to-make pineapple fluff dessert featuring a crunchy pretzel crust topped with a creamy mixture of cream cheese, pineapple, and whipped topping. Perfect for potlucks, summer gatherings, or anytime you crave a sweet and tangy treat.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 cup crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter (1 stick)

Filling

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple with juices (20 oz)
  • 1 small package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 8 oz whipped topping like Cool Whip
  • 1 large can pineapple tidbits (20 oz)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Mix together the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar in a medium bowl until well combined. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9″ x 9″ baking pan. Bake at 400°F (204°C) for 7-8 minutes until set and golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
  2. Make the filling: In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened cream cheese, crushed pineapple (with juices), and instant vanilla pudding mix until smooth and fully combined. Add the whipped topping and continue beating until well mixed and creamy. Finally, gently stir in the pineapple tidbits for added texture.
  3. Assemble the dessert: Transfer the pineapple fluff filling into a serving bowl or desired serving dish, spreading it evenly.
  4. Add the topping and serve: Break apart the cooled pretzel crust using a fork to create crunchy bits and sprinkle them generously over the top of the pineapple fluff. Serve chilled for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature for easier mixing and smooth texture.
  • Allow the pretzel crust to cool completely before topping to maintain crunchiness.
  • For a lighter version, you can use low-fat cream cheese and reduced-fat whipped topping.
  • This dessert is best served cold and can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.
  • Substitute crushed pretzels with graham cracker crumbs for a different crust flavor.
