Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin steak
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp chili garlic sauce
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 tbsp honey
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 cup pineapple juice
8 Hawaiian roll slider buns
1 yellow onion, sliced
2 jalapeños, sliced
8 canned pineapple rings (or fresh, grilled)
1/2 head green cabbage, shredded
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tbsp Thai sweet chili sauce (for mayo)
1 tsp sriracha hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, Thai sweet chili sauce, garlic, chili garlic sauce, ginger, honey, black pepper, and pineapple juice. Add steak, coat well, cover, and refrigerate for 4–8 hours.
- Slice onion and jalapeños; shred cabbage.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Pat steak dry, season with pepper, sear in a skillet for 2 minutes per side.
- Add onions and jalapeños to the skillet; transfer to oven. Roast 10 minutes, flip steak and stir veggies, roast 10 minutes more.
- Let steak rest 5 minutes, then slice thinly against the grain.
- Mix mayo, Thai sweet chili sauce, and sriracha in a bowl to make chili mayo.
- Toast buns if desired. Spread mayo on bottom buns, layer steak, sautéed veggies, pineapple, cabbage, and top buns.
Notes
- Marinate steak for at least 4 hours for maximum flavor.
- Grilling pineapple enhances its sweetness and caramelizes edges.
- Adjust heat by modifying chili sauce and sriracha quantities.
- Store steak and toppings separately for best texture before serving.
