Description

Summer Dirt Cake is a playful and delicious no-bake dessert that combines layers of creamy vanilla pudding, crushed golden Oreos, and graham crackers, tinted with blue food coloring to resemble dirt and water scenes. Topped with mini Oreos, teddy grahams, beach-themed gummy candies, and colorful sprinkles, this dessert is perfect for warm-weather gatherings and kids’ parties.

Ingredients

Crust and Topping

  • 9.5 oz golden Oreo cookies
  • 4 oz graham crackers
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Filling

  • 3.4 oz instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz Cool Whip (4.5 cups)
  • 1 teaspoon blue food colouring

Toppings

  • Mini golden Oreos
  • Teddy graham cookies
  • Beach themed gummy candies
  • Pastel coloured sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crumb base: Drop the golden Oreos and graham crackers into a food processor and pulse until only crumbs remain.
  2. Add butter: Pour in the melted butter and continue mixing until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  3. Set aside topping crumbs: Remove 1/3 cup of the cookie crumb mixture and set it aside for topping later.
  4. Make pudding mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk. Using an electric mixer, blend until thickened.
  5. Add sugar: Mix in the powdered sugar until fully incorporated.
  6. Incorporate cream cheese: Add softened cream cheese and continue mixing until smooth with no large lumps.
  7. Fold in Cool Whip and color: Add the Cool Whip and blue food coloring, folding gently with a rubber spatula until fully combined.
  8. Assemble layer 1: Spoon half of the cookie crumb mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  9. Layer pudding 1: Spread half of the pudding mixture over the cookie crumb layer.
  10. Layer crumb 2: Spoon the remaining cookie crumb mixture over the pudding layer.
  11. Layer pudding 2: Top with the remaining pudding mixture, spreading evenly.
  12. Chill: Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 3 hours to allow the cake to set.
  13. Prepare topping: Remove the dirt cake from the fridge just before serving.
  14. Add cookie crumb topping: Sprinkle the reserved 1/3 cup of cookie crumbs over the top.
  15. Add decorative toppings: Scatter mini golden Oreos and teddy graham cookies evenly on top.
  16. Add gummy candies: Place beach-themed gummy candies across the surface.
  17. Add sprinkles: Sprinkle pastel colored sprinkles over all the decorations for a fun finish.
  18. Serve and enjoy: The Summer Dirt Cake is now ready to be served and enjoyed by all.
