Description

A refreshing Strawberry Lemonade Aperol Margarita combining the bright flavors of fresh strawberries, citrus juices, and a fizzy ginger beer finish, perfectly balanced with tequila and Aperol for a delightful summer cocktail.

Ingredients

For the Rim

  • 2 tablespoons Tajin
  • 2 tablespoons sea salt
  • 1 slice lemon (for rimming glasses)

For the Cocktail

  • 4-6 strawberries, sliced
  • 2 ounces silver tequila
  • 1 ounce Aperol
  • 3/4 ounce Cointreau (orange liqueur)
  • 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) lime juice
  • 1/3 cup strong ginger beer, for topping
  • Ice, as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass Rim: On a shallow plate, mix the Tajin seasoning with sea salt. Rub the lemon slice around the rim of your glass, then dip it into the Tajin-salt mixture to coat the rim evenly. Fill the glass with ice cubes to chill.
  2. Muddle Strawberries and Mix Cocktail: In a cocktail shaker or glass jar, add the sliced strawberries and pour in the tequila. Muddle the strawberries thoroughly to release their juices and create a fruity base. Add the Aperol, Cointreau, lemon juice, and lime juice into the shaker.
  3. Shake the Cocktail: Fill the shaker with ice, then securely cap and shake vigorously until all ingredients are well combined and chilled.
  4. Strain and Serve: Strain the cocktail mixture into the prepared glass over the ice.
  5. Top and Garnish: Gently top the drink with the strong ginger beer to add a fizzy finish. Garnish with extra sliced strawberries and fresh herbs if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing Strawberry Lemonade Aperol Margarita!

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor.
  • If ginger beer is not available, a strong ginger ale can be substituted, but ginger beer provides a spicier kick.
  • The Tajin and salt mixture adds a tangy and mildly spicy rim that complements the citrus flavors well.
  • Adjust sweetness by altering the amount of Cointreau or adding a touch of simple syrup if preferred.
  • This recipe makes one cocktail; multiply ingredients accordingly for more servings.
