Description

A refreshing and vibrant Strawberry Ginger Mojito featuring fresh mint, strawberries, zesty lime, and a splash of rum topped with spicy ginger beer. Perfect for a quick and delicious summer cocktail.

Ingredients

For the Lime Sugar

  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt

For the Mojito

  • 1 lime, quartered
  • 8 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup sliced strawberries
  • 2 ounces (1/4 cup) white rum
  • Ginger beer, for topping
  • Ice, as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare Lime Sugar: Combine the lime zest, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt on a shallow plate. Use this mixture to rim your glass, then fill the glass with ice.
  2. Muddle Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker or a glass jar, add the quartered lime wedges, sliced strawberries, and fresh mint leaves. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to crush and mash the ingredients gently to release their juices and flavors.
  3. Add Rum and Shake: Pour in the white rum over the muddled mixture. Fill the shaker or jar with ice and shake vigorously until well combined and chilled.
  4. Strain and Serve: Strain the cocktail mixture into your prepared glass that has the lime sugar rim and ice. Top off with ginger beer to your desired taste.
  5. Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing strawberry ginger mojito.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum and increase the ginger beer amount.
  • Adjust the amount of sugar based on your preferred sweetness.
  • Fresh strawberries and mint are key to achieving the best flavor.
  • Use freshly squeezed lime juice for a brighter taste, if desired.
  • Serve immediately to enjoy the freshest flavors and fizz of ginger beer.
