Ingredients
Dough
- 2 8-ounce cans refrigerated crescent rolls
Cheesecake Filling
- 2 8-ounce packages cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Topping
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup sugar
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it reaches the correct temperature before baking.
- Prepare Bottom Crust: Unroll one can of crescent dough and carefully place it in the bottom of a 13×9 inch glass or metal baking dish. Stretch the dough gently to cover the entire bottom and press the perforations together to seal the dough into one solid layer.
- Make Cheesecake Filling: In a medium bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together the cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract and continue mixing until fully incorporated.
- Spread Cheesecake Layer: Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the prepared bottom dough layer in the baking dish.
- Add Top Crust: Unroll the second can of crescent dough and carefully place it over the cream cheese layer. Pinch the seams of the dough to seal it and cover the filling completely.
- Apply Butter and Cinnamon Sugar: Pour the melted butter evenly over the top dough layer. Mix the remaining 1/3 cup sugar with the ground cinnamon and sprinkle this cinnamon sugar evenly over the buttered dough surface.
- Bake Bars: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the bars are golden brown on top and appear set when gently shaken.
- Cool: Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool for 15 to 20 minutes before cutting and serving to let the layers set properly.
- Storage: Store any remaining bars covered in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
- Rewarm Instructions: To serve warm, microwave the bars at 50% power for 5 to 10 seconds.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature to ensure a smooth filling.
- Pressing the dough perforations is important to prevent the filling from leaking out during baking.
- Use a glass or metal baking dish sized 13×9 inches for best results.
- For an extra touch, you can drizzle honey or serve with fresh fruit on the side.
- Cooling is essential before slicing to avoid the bars falling apart.
