Description

Mini Tiramisu Cups are individual servings of the classic Italian dessert, featuring layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream. This no-bake recipe is whipped to perfection and chilled to create a creamy, indulgent treat topped with cocoa powder and decorative ladyfingers.

Ingredients

For the Tiramisu Cream

  • 300 g Mascarpone (41% fat, cold)
  • 240 g Heavy Cream (36% fat, very cold)
  • 70 g Powdered Sugar (sifted)

For the Soaking and Assembly

  • 200 g Ladyfingers (store-bought)
  • 1 cup Strong Coffee (espresso, lightly sweetened)

For Garnish

  • Few Tablespoons Cocoa Powder (unsweetened Dutch processed)
  • Ladyfingers (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Whip the Cream Mixture: In a bowl, use an electric hand mixer to whip together the cold mascarpone, very cold heavy cream, and sifted powdered sugar. Continue whipping for a few minutes until stiff peaks form, being careful not to overwhip to maintain a smooth, creamy texture.
  2. Soak and Layer Ladyfingers: Briefly soak the ladyfingers in the freshly prepared, lightly sweetened espresso to soften them without making them soggy. Begin layering the dessert directly in individual cups by placing a layer of coffee-soaked ladyfingers first, followed by a layer of the mascarpone cream.
  3. Smooth and Refrigerate: Use an offset spatula or spoon to smooth the top layer of mascarpone cream. Cover and refrigerate the tiramisu cups for a minimum of 1 hour to allow the ladyfingers to soften completely and the flavors to meld.
  4. Decorate: Once set, dust the top of each tiramisu cup generously with unsweetened Dutch processed cocoa powder. Add extra ladyfingers for an attractive decorative touch on top.
  5. Storage: Store the mini tiramisu cups in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for the best freshness and taste.

Notes

  • Ensure the mascarpone and heavy cream are very cold for optimal whipping results.
  • Do not over-soak ladyfingers to avoid a soggy texture in the dessert.
  • The dessert can be prepared a few hours ahead, making it ideal for entertaining.
  • Use strong espresso or very strong coffee to infuse a rich coffee flavor.
  • Consume within 2 days as the mascarpone mixture and ladyfingers will lose their texture and freshness beyond this period.
