Description

This Easy Ice Cream Cake recipe combines the creamy delight of ice cream sandwiches with rich hot fudge and Smucker’s Chocolate Magic Shell for an irresistible treat. Layered with your favorite candy bars, these no-bake cakes are quick to assemble and perfect for any celebration or a refreshing dessert on a warm day.

Ingredients

Ice Cream Cakes

  • 12 (3.1 ounce) ice cream sandwiches
  • ½ cup hot fudge, divided
  • 1 (7.25 ounce) bottle Smucker’s Chocolate Magic Shell
  • 2 candy bars, cut into pieces (use your favorite!)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the base: Line a cookie sheet with wax paper, parchment paper, foil or use a flat platter or loaf pan that can hold the ice cream sandwiches comfortably.
  2. Thin the hot fudge: Warm the hot fudge slightly so it becomes a little thinner but avoid making it too hot or boiling.
  3. Make two cakes: The recipe makes two separate ice cream cakes, so gather enough space to assemble both.
  4. Layer the sandwiches and fudge: Place 3 ice cream sandwiches side by side on the prepared surface. Spread a quarter of the warmed hot fudge evenly over them. Top with 3 more ice cream sandwiches.
  5. Apply Magic Shell: Following the package instructions, warm the Smucker’s Magic Shell. Pour half of the bottle evenly over the assembled sandwiches and spread it with a knife, ensuring to cover edges as well.
  6. Add candy bars: Sprinkle the cut-up candy bar pieces over the center of the cake and drizzle a small amount of Magic Shell on top to help them stick firmly.
  7. Assemble second cake: Repeat the layering, fudging, Magic Shell coating, and candy topping steps for the second cake on the same or a separate sheet.
  8. Freeze the cakes: Place both cakes in the freezer for about 20 minutes until set or until ready to serve.

Notes

  • You can use any candy bars you prefer for topping, customizing the flavor.
  • Make sure the hot fudge is warm enough to spread easily but not too hot to melt the ice cream sandwiches.
  • Magic Shell needs to be warmed gently as per package instructions for the best consistency.
  • Store leftover cake in the freezer wrapped tightly to prevent freezer burn.
  • This recipe is great for last-minute parties since it requires no baking.
