Description
Dubai Chocolate Strawberries is a decadent layered dessert featuring crispy kataifi pastry combined with rich pistachio butter, smooth tahini, and luscious melted chocolate, layered with fresh halved strawberries and topped with crushed pistachios. This elegant, no-bake treat balances crunchy textures with creamy and fruity flavors, perfect for a sophisticated snack or dessert.
Ingredients
Kataifi Filling
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 ounces kataifi shredded dough (chopped)
- 1 cup pistachio butter (or pistachio cream)
- 2 tablespoons tahini (optional)
Chocolate Sauce
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
Fruit and Garnish
- 1 ½ pounds strawberries (halved)
- Ground pistachios, for topping
Instructions
- Prepare Kataifi Mixture: Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped kataifi dough and cook, stirring constantly, until it turns browned and crispy, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat, stir in the pistachio butter and tahini (if using), and let the mixture cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Melt Chocolate: Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Assemble the Dessert: In four clear 12-ounce cups, place 8 strawberry halves at the bottom. Drizzle about 2 tablespoons of the melted chocolate over the strawberries, filling the gaps. Spoon about 3 tablespoons of the kataifi mixture on top of the chocolate layer. Repeat by adding another layer of strawberry halves near the top of the cup, followed by more kataifi mixture, a drizzle of melted chocolate, and a sprinkle of ground pistachios.
- Chill and Serve: Enjoy immediately for a softer chocolate texture, or place the cups in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to set before serving.
Notes
- If tahini is not preferred, feel free to omit it; the dessert will still have rich flavor from the pistachio butter.
- Kataifi dough can usually be found in Middle Eastern or Mediterranean grocery stores or specialty frozen dessert aisles.
- For best results, use fresh, firm strawberries to maintain the layered structure.
- This dessert can be prepared a few hours ahead and refrigerated to let flavors meld and chocolate set completely.
- Adjust sweetness by choosing dark or milk chocolate chips based on your preference.
