Description

A deliciously creamy and naturally sweet Date Shake made with frozen bananas, Medjool dates, almond butter, and vanilla almond milk. This quick and easy recipe creates a rich, nutritious shake perfect for a healthy snack or breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Shake Ingredients

  • 2 large bananas, cut into chunks and frozen (about 2 cups sliced)
  • 4 pitted Medjool dates
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter (plus additional to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk or milk of choice
  • Small handful ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add Ingredients to Blender: Place the frozen banana chunks, pitted Medjool dates, almond butter, vanilla extract, and unsweetened vanilla almond milk into a high-powered blender. If you don’t have a high-powered blender, blend the almond milk and half of the frozen bananas first to help create a smoother blend.
  2. Blend Until Smooth: Blend all ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and creamy. If needed, add the remaining frozen fruit gradually for a perfect texture.
  3. Adjust Thickness and Sweetness: To make the shake thicker, add a small handful of ice cubes and blend again. Taste the shake and if you want it richer, add more almond butter. For extra sweetness, add another date and blend.
  4. Serve: Pour the shake into glasses and enjoy immediately for a refreshing and nutritious treat.

Notes

  • Use Medjool dates for their natural sweetness and caramel-like flavor.
  • If you do not have almond milk, any milk of your choice can be substituted.
  • Adjust the thickness by adding more ice cubes or frozen bananas.
  • For added protein, consider adding a scoop of protein powder.
  • This shake is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for a few hours; shake well before serving.
