Description
Cinnamon Roll Muffins are a fun twist on the classic cinnamon roll, offering soft, fluffy muffins filled with a cinnamon-sugar swirl and topped with a sweet glaze. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a snack.
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Sugar
- Butter (melted)
- Milk
- Egg
- Cinnamon
- Brown sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar (for glaze)
- Milk or cream (for glaze)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin or line it with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, and egg. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and brown sugar.
- Spoon a tablespoon of the muffin batter into each muffin cup, then sprinkle a teaspoon of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top. Add another spoonful of muffin batter on top of the sugar, followed by more cinnamon-sugar.
- Use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the cinnamon-sugar mixture into the batter to create a swirl effect.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the muffins are baking, make the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and a small amount of milk or cream until smooth.
- Once the muffins have cooled slightly, drizzle the glaze over the tops.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Freezes well for up to 2 months. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
- For a richer frosting, add cream cheese to the glaze.
- To create the perfect swirl, gently swirl with a toothpick—don’t overmix.
