Ingredients
Chocolate Orange Fudge Ingredients
- 450 g dark semi-sweet chocolate (broken pieces or chips)
- 395 g sweetened condensed milk (one tin)
- 2 tsp orange extract
- 1 orange’s zest (optional)
Instructions
- Heat Chocolate and Condensed Milk: In a heatproof bowl, combine the broken chocolate pieces and sweetened condensed milk. Microwave the mixture in 20-second bursts, stirring well between each burst, until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add Orange Extract: Stir in 2 teaspoons of orange extract thoroughly to evenly distribute the citrus flavor throughout the chocolate mixture.
- Prepare the Baking Tin: Line an 8-inch baking tin with greaseproof paper. Pour the chocolate and orange mixture into the tin and smooth the top evenly using a spatula. If desired, sprinkle and press in freshly grated orange zest over the surface for an extra burst of citrus aroma and decorative touch.
- Refrigerate to Set: Place the tin in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the fudge to firm up and set completely. Once set, remove from the fridge and cut into small squares to serve and enjoy.
Notes
- Use good quality dark semi-sweet chocolate for best flavor and smooth texture.
- Microwave times may vary; stir frequently to avoid burning the chocolate.
- Orange zest adds bright aroma and decoration but can be omitted if preferred.
- Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
- Cut the fudge into smaller pieces for bite-sized treats or larger squares for a more indulgent portion.
