- ¾ cup mini semisweet chocolate chips, divided
- 40 mini Nilla wafer cookies
- 40 milk chocolate Hershey’s kisses, unwrapped
Instructions
- Prepare Baking Tray: Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set it aside to prevent melted chocolate from sticking during assembly.
- Melt Chocolate: Set aside ¼ cup of the mini semisweet chocolate chips for the stems. Melt the remaining ½ cup in a microwave-safe bowl by heating in 30-second increments, stirring between each until fully smooth and melted.
- Assemble Acorn Bases: Place the mini Nilla wafers upside down on the prepared tray. Dab a small amount of melted chocolate onto the flat side of each wafer, then press a Hershey’s milk chocolate kiss onto the dab to form the acorn’s base. Repeat until all wafers have kisses attached.
- Chill to Set Base: Refrigerate the tray for about 10 minutes to let the chocolate firm up, securing the Hershey’s kisses to the wafers.
- Add Acorn Stems: If needed, reheat the reserved chocolate chips until melted. Using a skewer, apply a small dab of melted chocolate to the top center of each Nilla wafer. Press the flat side of a reserved mini chocolate chip onto the dab to create the stem on each acorn.
- Final Chill: Return the tray to the refrigerator for another 5 minutes to let the stems harden and stay securely attached.
