Description
A simple and nutritious Chia Jello recipe that combines chia seeds with fruit juice and optional sweetener, chilled overnight to create a refreshing, gelatinous treat topped with fresh fruits.
Ingredients
Chia Jello Base
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- ⅓ cup juice of choice (such as orange, apple, or grape juice)
- 1 teaspoon honey or other sweetener (optional)
Topping
- Fruits for topping (such as berries, sliced kiwi, mango, or banana)
Instructions
- Mix Ingredients: Pour the chia seeds, juice of choice, and honey or sweetener into a jar. Stir well to combine all ingredients thoroughly, making sure there are no clumps. Let the mixture sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir again to break up any settling chia seeds.
- Chill to Set: Cover the jar tightly and place it in the refrigerator. Allow the chia mixture to rest overnight or for at least 4 hours so the seeds absorb the liquid and form a gel-like consistency.
- Serve with Fruit: When ready to enjoy, remove the jar from the fridge and top the chia jello with your favorite fresh fruits. Serve cold for a refreshing and healthy snack or breakfast.
Notes
- Use any fruit juice you prefer to customize the flavor of your chia jello.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding honey, maple syrup, or agave according to taste or omit for a natural flavor.
- For thicker jello, add more chia seeds or reduce the juice slightly.
- Chia jello can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Try blending the topping fruits for a different texture or layering with yogurt for extra creaminess.
