Description

Campfire S’mores Pizza is a fun and delicious twist on the classic s’mores treat, combining warm flour tortillas layered with Nutella, graham crackers, Hershey’s chocolate, and mini marshmallows. Cooked over a campfire grate on aluminum foil, this gooey dessert is perfect for outdoor gatherings and ready in just 13 minutes.

Ingredients

Base

  • 4 large flour tortillas (9 ½ inch each)

Spread

  • ⅔ cup Nutella spread or chocolate spread of your choice

Toppings

  • 1 sleeve graham crackers (broken into bite size pieces, about ⅔ cup)
  • 12 snack size Hershey’s bars (broken into pieces)
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows (1 cup per pizza)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the campfire: Build your campfire and allow it to burn down until you have a nice bed of hot coals, which will provide even heat for cooking your pizzas.
  2. Set up foil and tortillas: Lay out two pieces of aluminum foil to cook each pizza on, then place one large flour tortilla on top of each piece of foil.
  3. Spread Nutella: Using a spoon or an offset spatula, spread approximately 2 ½ tablespoons of Nutella over each tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges uncoated to prevent spillover.
  4. Add graham crackers: Evenly sprinkle about ⅔ cup of broken graham cracker pieces over the Nutella layer on each tortilla.
  5. Add chocolate pieces: Break three snack size Hershey’s bars into smaller pieces and scatter them on top of the graham crackers on each pizza.
  6. Add mini marshmallows: Generously sprinkle 1 cup of mini marshmallows over the chocolate and graham crackers on each pizza, completing the topping layers.
  7. Place on grate: Carefully place the assembled dessert pizzas on the grate positioned over the bed of coals, keeping the aluminum foil underneath for easy cleanup and to protect the tortillas.
  8. Cover with foil tent: Use a larger piece of aluminum foil to tent over the pizzas. This helps to trap heat and melt the toppings evenly without burning.
  9. Cook and turn: After about 4 to 6 minutes, carefully turn the pizzas using tongs or a spatula to promote even cooking of the marshmallows and chocolate.
  10. Finish cooking and serve: Once the chocolate and marshmallows are melted and gooey, remove the pizzas from the heat. Slice and serve immediately while hot and melty for the ultimate campfire dessert experience.

Notes

  • Use caution when handling hot coals and the foil to avoid burns.
  • Customize toppings by adding nuts, sliced bananas, or different chocolate types.
  • If you don’t have a campfire, this recipe can be replicated on a grill or in an oven using similar heat settings.
  • Be sure to keep the foil under the tortillas to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute flour tortillas and graham crackers with gluten-free versions.
