Description

Campfire Éclairs are a fun and easy outdoor dessert made by cooking biscuit dough over an open flame until golden brown, then filled with creamy chocolate pudding, fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and a crunchy topping of M&M candies. Perfect for camping trips or backyard fireside treats, these éclairs combine the charm of rustic cooking with delicious, creamy textures.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 refrigerated package of biscuit dough
  • 14 oz chocolate pudding
  • 1 pint strawberries, sliced
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup M&M candies

Instructions

  1. Pre-soak sticks: Soak your large sticks in water for 20 minutes to prevent them from burning during the cooking process over the fire.
  2. Prepare biscuit dough: Open and unroll the biscuit dough package. Stretch out and flatten each biscuit round in your hand to about 1/4-inch thick for uniform cooking.
  3. Wrap dough on sticks: Stretch one flattened biscuit dough round over a soaked stick, smoothing out any creases to ensure even cooking.
  4. Cook over fire: Hold the biscuit dough-covered stick over the flames, rotating continuously for 5-10 minutes until the dough is evenly browned and cooked through.
  5. Remove biscuit shells: Carefully slide the cooked biscuit shell off the stick once all sides are browned and the inside is fully cooked.
  6. Repeat cooking: Repeat the wrapping and cooking process with the remaining biscuit dough rounds.
  7. Fill éclairs: Evenly divide chocolate pudding and sliced strawberries to fill the inside of each biscuit shell.
  8. Top éclairs: Spoon whipped cream over the filled éclairs and sprinkle with M&M candies for added color and crunch.

Notes

  • Make sure the sticks are thoroughly soaked to avoid burning during cooking.
  • Rotate the biscuit dough consistently for even browning.
  • You can substitute chocolate pudding with any other flavored pudding or custard you prefer.
  • Use fresh strawberries or other berries for variation in flavor.
  • If you don’t have access to an open fire, a grill or stovetop pan can work as an alternative cooking method.
