Description
A refreshing homemade blueberry lemonade made with fresh lemon juice, sweetened with a blueberry-infused simple syrup, and served chilled. This vibrant drink balances the tartness of lemons with the natural sweetness of blueberries, perfect for a hot day or any gathering.
Ingredients
Syrup
- 150 g white sugar
- 200 ml drinking water (at room temperature)
- 6 fresh blueberries
Lemonade
- 150 ml lemon juice (juice of approximately 2 lemons, strained)
- 1300 ml drinking water (chilled)
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- Ice cubes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Blueberry Syrup: Measure 200 ml of drinking water into a small saucepan. Add the 150 g of white sugar and 6 fresh blueberries. Heat on low, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves completely and the blueberries soften to release their juices.
- Strain Syrup: Strain the blueberry syrup mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a 2-liter pitcher, removing any solids for a smooth syrup base.
- Add Chilled Water: Pour the 1300 ml of chilled drinking water into the pitcher with the syrup and stir to combine.
- Incorporate Lemon Juice: Strain and add the fresh lemon juice to the pitcher. Stir well to blend all the flavors uniformly.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the lemonade until cold. Before serving, garnish with fresh blueberries and optionally add ice cubes to keep the drink refreshingly cool.
Notes
- You can add ice cubes when serving to keep the lemonade cooler longer.
- Adjust sugar to taste if you prefer a less sweet or more tart lemonade.
- Use fresh lemons for the best flavor impact and freshness.
- Ensure the syrup is fully cooled before adding the chilled water to maintain a consistent cold temperature.
