Description

These Air Fryer Hand Pies are a quick and delicious treat using pre-made pie crusts and your choice of pie filling. Perfectly golden and flaky, they bake up beautifully in the air fryer in just minutes, making them an ideal sweet snack or dessert for any occasion.

Ingredients

Pie Crusts

  • 1 box Pre-Made Pie Crusts (contains 2 pie crusts)

Filling

  • 1 can Pie Filling (Peach, Apple, Cherry, or your favorite flavor)

Finishing Touches

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 pouch White Cookie Icing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pie Crust: Roll out the pre-made pie crust on a clean cutting board to smooth it out for cutting.
  2. Cut Circles: Use a round cookie cutter or sandwich sealer to cut out even circles from the rolled crust.
  3. Add Filling: Place approximately half a spoonful of your chosen pie filling onto half of the crust circles.
  4. Seal Pies: Cover the filled circles with the remaining crust circles, then press edges together firmly with a fork or sandwich sealer to seal each hand pie.
  5. Egg Wash: Whisk the egg in a small bowl, then brush each hand pie with the egg wash using a pastry brush to give them a golden finish.
  6. Arrange in Air Fryer: Place the hand pies on the air fryer rack or basket without letting them touch, ensuring even cooking.
  7. Air Fry: Cook the hand pies in the air fryer at 350°F for 6-8 minutes until golden and flaky.
  8. Cool: Remove the pies carefully and transfer to a cooling rack to cool slightly before serving.
  9. Optional Decoration: Drizzle or pipe white cookie icing on top of the cooled hand pies for added sweetness and presentation.
  10. Serve: Enjoy the hand pies warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can customize these hand pies with any canned pie filling of your choice.
  • If you don’t have a round cookie cutter, a glass or cup rim can be used to cut circles.
  • Make sure not to overfill the pies to prevent leaking during cooking.
  • Use a light hand with the egg wash to avoid soggy crusts.
  • Allow the pies to cool slightly before adding icing to prevent it from melting off.
  • These hand pies can be reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes for crispiness after refrigeration.
