Description
These Air Fryer Brownies are super quick, easy, and fudgy, perfect for a delicious homemade treat with minimal fuss. Made with simple ingredients and cooked in an air fryer, they offer a luscious, gooey texture with a thin crust on top, ready in just 20 minutes.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/4 cup Dutch-process cocoa powder (sifted if lumpy)
- 1/16 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 1/4 cup + 2 teaspoons coconut oil (or unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg (50 grams, out of shell)
Add-ins
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- Mini chocolate chips to sprinkle on top (quantity to preference)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line a 6-inch circular cake pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy removal of the brownies after baking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set this mixture aside for later.
- Combine Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, mix the melted coconut oil (or butter), sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Add the egg and stir just until incorporated.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients and gently stir until almost no streaks of flour remain, being careful not to overmix. Fold in 1/4 cup of chocolate chips.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 340°F (170°C) to ensure even and consistent cooking.
- Cook the Brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top. Place the pan in the air fryer and bake for 10-14 minutes until the brownies develop a thin crust and the center appears set but still slightly wet. Test doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out wet, while toothpicks inserted near edges should have moist crumbs but no raw batter.
- Cool and Store: Let the brownies cool completely before removing from the pan. Store covered at room temperature for up to 4 days, or refrigerate for up to a week to achieve a fudgier texture.
Notes
- Do not overmix the batter as it can lead to dense brownies.
- You can substitute coconut oil with unsalted butter if preferred.
- Sifting the cocoa powder helps prevent lumps in the batter.
- The brownies continue to firm up as they cool, so avoid overbaking.
- Mini chocolate chips sprinkled on top add texture and extra chocolate flavor.
