Description

Maple Glazed Mini Donuts are fluffy, baked bite-sized treats topped with a sweet maple glaze. They’re easy to make, perfectly portioned, and a cozy addition to breakfast, brunch, or dessert tables.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 12 tablespoons milk or cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a mini donut pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, milk, vanilla, melted butter, and maple syrup until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until blended. Do not overmix.
  5. Spoon or pipe batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
  6. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until donuts spring back when touched.
  7. Cool in the pan for 2–3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. For the glaze: whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
  9. Dip cooled donuts into the glaze and place on rack to set. Dip twice if thicker glaze is desired.

Notes

  • Ensure donuts are fully cooled before glazing to prevent run-off.
  • For a fall twist, add nutmeg or cloves to the batter.
  • Top glazed donuts with crumbled bacon for a sweet-savory variation.
  • Unfrosted donuts can be frozen for up to 2 months and glazed later.
  • A mini muffin pan can be used if you don’t have a mini donut pan.
