Description
Maple Glazed Mini Donuts are fluffy, baked bite-sized treats topped with a sweet maple glaze. They’re easy to make, perfectly portioned, and a cozy addition to breakfast, brunch, or dessert tables.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1–2 tablespoons milk or cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a mini donut pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, milk, vanilla, melted butter, and maple syrup until smooth.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring just until blended. Do not overmix.
- Spoon or pipe batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 3/4 full.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, until donuts spring back when touched.
- Cool in the pan for 2–3 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the glaze: whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
- Dip cooled donuts into the glaze and place on rack to set. Dip twice if thicker glaze is desired.
Notes
- Ensure donuts are fully cooled before glazing to prevent run-off.
- For a fall twist, add nutmeg or cloves to the batter.
- Top glazed donuts with crumbled bacon for a sweet-savory variation.
- Unfrosted donuts can be frozen for up to 2 months and glazed later.
- A mini muffin pan can be used if you don’t have a mini donut pan.
