Description

White chocolate covered strawberries are a luxurious treat that pairs the creamy sweetness of white chocolate with the fresh, juicy flavor of ripe strawberries. They’re easy to make and perfect for any special occasion or as a sweet snack.

Ingredients

  1. 1 pint fresh strawberries, washed and dried thoroughly
  2. 8 oz white chocolate, chopped or in chips
  3. 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable oil (optional, for smoothness)
  4. Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, or dark chocolate for drizzling

Instructions

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper and set it aside.

  1. Wash the strawberries and pat them dry with a paper towel. Ensure that the strawberries are completely dry, as any moisture can prevent the chocolate from sticking.
  2. In a heatproof bowl, melt the white chocolate. You can do this using a double boiler or in the microwave:
    • Double boiler: Place the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water. Stir constantly until melted and smooth.
    • Microwave: Place the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth.
  3. (Optional) Stir in the coconut oil or vegetable oil to the melted white chocolate for added smoothness and shine.
  4. Hold each strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted white chocolate, swirling it to coat about two-thirds of the strawberry. Gently shake off any excess chocolate.
  5. Place the dipped strawberries onto the prepared baking sheet and let them set. If desired, you can sprinkle crushed nuts, sprinkles, or drizzle with dark chocolate before the white chocolate hardens.
  6. Allow the white chocolate to fully set at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or place the strawberries in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to speed up the process.
  7. Once the chocolate has hardened, the strawberries are ready to enjoy! Serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.

Notes

  1. For a fun twist, drizzle with dark or milk chocolate for a two-toned effect.
  2. Roll the dipped strawberries in crushed nuts like pistachios or almonds for added texture.
  3. For a tropical flavor, coat the strawberries with shredded coconut after dipping them in white chocolate.
  4. Store the strawberries in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days to maintain freshness.
