Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups almonds or walnuts
- 1 cup pitted dates

- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1 1/2 cups full-fat coconut milk
- 1 1/2 cups dairy-free dark chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
In a food processor, combine the almonds or walnuts, pitted dates, cocoa powder, and salt. Blend until the mixture is sticky and crumbly.
- Press the crust mixture into the bottom and sides of a tart pan. Place in the freezer while you prepare the filling.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the coconut milk until just simmering. Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate chips.
- Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then stir until smooth. Mix in the maple syrup and vanilla extract.
- Pour the chocolate filling into the prepared crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Refrigerate the tart for at least 4 hours or until set.
- Garnish with fresh berries, nuts, or coconut flakes before serving if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute the nuts in the crust with sunflower seeds for a nut-free version.
- Use high-quality dark chocolate for the best flavor.
- Tart can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge.
