Description

Tiramisu Cups are an individual-sized twist on the classic Italian dessert, featuring layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, rich mascarpone cream, and a dusting of cocoa powder. These no-bake cups are perfect for parties, picnics, or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  1. 1 package (7 oz) ladyfingers
  2. 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled (or espresso)
  3. 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  4. 8 oz mascarpone cheese, softened
  5. ½ cup powdered sugar
  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  7. 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
  8. Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the coffee: Brew the coffee or espresso and allow it to cool to room temperature.

  1. Make the mascarpone filling: In a mixing bowl, combine mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
  2. Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  3. Combine the mixtures: Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until smooth and combined.
  4. Soak the ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
  5. Assemble the cups: In individual cups, layer the soaked ladyfingers, followed by a layer of mascarpone cream. Repeat the layers, finishing with mascarpone cream on top.
  6. Chill the cups: Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the dessert to set.
  7. Serve: Just before serving, dust the tops with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings or additional cocoa powder.

Notes

  • These cups can be made ahead of time and are best chilled for a few hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  • If you prefer, substitute ladyfingers with any light, sponge-like cake such as angel food or pound cake.
  • To add more coffee flavor, dissolve instant coffee in the heavy cream or add a coffee liqueur to the mascarpone mixture.
  • For a non-dairy version, use plant-based mascarpone and whipped cream substitutes.
