Ingredients
Base Mixture
- 10 Little Debbie Strawberry Shortcake Rolls
- 4 oz. Cream Cheese
Coating and Topping
- 2 bags Strawberry and Cream Chocolate Melts (approx. 10-12 oz each)
- 12 Golden Oreos, processed into crumbs
- 2 tablespoons Melted Butter
- 3 oz. Strawberry Jello Mix (approximately one small packet)
Instructions
- Combine the base ingredients: Place the strawberry shortcake rolls and cream cheese into a stand mixer bowl.
- Mix until smooth: Mix on high speed until the ingredients are well combined into a smooth batter.
- Freeze the mixture: Transfer the batter to a covered container and place in the freezer for one hour to firm up.
- Form truffle balls: Remove the batter from the freezer and roll out approximately one tablespoon of dough into a ball. Place each ball on parchment paper. Return the balls to the freezer to keep firm.
- Prepare the Oreo topping: In a bowl, combine processed Golden Oreos, strawberry jello mix, and melted butter. Mix until well combined and set aside.
- Melt the coating chocolate: Place the strawberry and cream chocolate melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in one-minute intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth.
- Coat the truffles: Dip each frozen dough ball into the melted chocolate, then remove using a fork or dipping tool, shaking off excess coating. Place back onto the parchment paper-lined tray.
- Add topping and set: Sprinkle the coated truffles with the Oreo-strawberry mixture for a crunchy finish. Allow the chocolate coating to set completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
- Serve and enjoy: Once set, serve these delicious strawberry shortcake truffles immediately or store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Keeping the truffle mixture cold is key for easy shaping and coating.
- Use parchment paper to prevent sticking during the coating and setting process.
- Store leftover truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- You can substitute cream cheese with a dairy-free alternative for a lactose-free option.
- Adjust the amount of jello mix topping based on your preferred level of strawberry flavor and crunch.
