Description

This Strawberry Salsa is a refreshing twist on traditional salsa, combining sweet strawberries with savory red onion, cilantro, and lime. Perfect as a dip for tortilla chips, or a topping for grilled meats and tacos, this easy-to-make salsa brings a burst of vibrant flavor to any dish!

Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and diced

1/4 cup red onion, finely diced

1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

1 tablespoon lime juice (freshly squeezed)

1 teaspoon honey (optional, for added sweetness)

1/2 teaspoon jalapeño, finely chopped (optional for a spicy kick)

Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Hull and dice the strawberries into small pieces and place them in a medium-sized bowl.

  • Finely chop the red onion and cilantro, then add them to the bowl with the strawberries.

  • If using, chop the jalapeño into small pieces and add to the mixture.

  • Squeeze fresh lime juice into the bowl and mix all ingredients thoroughly.

  • Taste the salsa and, if desired, add honey for sweetness. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, grilled meats, or as a topping for salads.

Notes

  • This salsa is best enjoyed fresh. If making ahead, refrigerate and stir before serving as the liquid may separate.

  • Add more jalapeño for a spicier kick or replace strawberries with mango for a tropical twist.

  • For a vegan version, omit the honey or replace it with agave nectar or maple syrup
