Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made graham cracker pie crust
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries (sliced or halved)
  • 1 (3 oz) box strawberry-flavored Jello
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water or ice water
  • Whipped cream or whipped topping (optional, for serving)


Instructions

  1. Wash, hull, and slice or halve the strawberries. Set aside.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, dissolve the strawberry Jello in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.
  3. Add 1/2 cup cold water or ice water to the mixture and stir until it begins to thicken slightly (you can place it in the fridge for 5–10 minutes to speed this up).
  4. Arrange the strawberries evenly in the graham cracker crust.
  5. Carefully pour the thickened Jello mixture over the strawberries in the crust.
  6. Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours, or until the Jello is fully set.
  7. Top with whipped cream or whipped topping just before serving, if desired.
  8. Slice and serve chilled.
