Description

Slow Cooker Chocolate Cherry Dump Cake is a decadent, easy-to-make dessert that combines the rich flavors of chocolate and cherries with the convenience of a slow cooker. A warm, gooey dessert that requires minimal effort, making it perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  1. 1 box chocolate cake mix
  2. 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  3. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  4. 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  5. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  6. 1/4 cup milk (optional for a moister texture)

Instructions

Spray the inside of the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray for easy cleanup.

  1. Pour the cherry pie filling into the bottom of the slow cooker and spread it out evenly.
  2. Sprinkle the dry chocolate cake mix over the cherry filling. Do not stir—just spread it evenly over the cherries.
  3. Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, covering it as evenly as possible. It’s okay if some parts are not fully covered with butter.
  4. Top with chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using).
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or until the cake is cooked through and the edges are golden brown.
  6. Once done, turn off the slow cooker and let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  1. Feel free to swap the cherry pie filling with other pie fillings like apple, blueberry, or peach.
  2. Omit the nuts for a nut-free version.
  3. Try using a white or yellow cake mix for a different flavor profile.
  4. Add mini marshmallows or drizzle caramel sauce for extra flavor.
