Description
Slow Cooker Chocolate Cherry Dump Cake is a decadent, easy-to-make dessert that combines the rich flavors of chocolate and cherries with the convenience of a slow cooker. A warm, gooey dessert that requires minimal effort, making it perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/4 cup milk (optional for a moister texture)
Instructions
Spray the inside of the slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray for easy cleanup.
- Pour the cherry pie filling into the bottom of the slow cooker and spread it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the dry chocolate cake mix over the cherry filling. Do not stir—just spread it evenly over the cherries.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix, covering it as evenly as possible. It’s okay if some parts are not fully covered with butter.
- Top with chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using).
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or until the cake is cooked through and the edges are golden brown.
- Once done, turn off the slow cooker and let the cake cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to swap the cherry pie filling with other pie fillings like apple, blueberry, or peach.
- Omit the nuts for a nut-free version.
- Try using a white or yellow cake mix for a different flavor profile.
- Add mini marshmallows or drizzle caramel sauce for extra flavor.
