Description

This Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken is a deliciously easy, no-fuss meal made with juicy chicken breasts slow-cooked in a sweet and tangy barbecue sauce. Perfect for meal prep, sandwiches, wraps, or served over rice, this crockpot BBQ chicken is a crowd-pleasing favorite for weeknights, parties, or game day. With just a few pantry staples, you can enjoy tender, shredded chicken packed with bold BBQ flavor.

Ingredients

3 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1½ cups barbecue sauce (your favorite)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons brown sugar

½ medium onion, grated (with juices)

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, mix together barbecue sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and grated onion.

  2. Add chicken breasts and coat well with the sauce.

  3. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 2–3 hours, until chicken is tender and easy to shred.

  4. Remove chicken, shred with two forks, and return to the slow cooker. Stir to coat with sauce.

  5. Serve warm in sandwiches, wraps, over rice, or as desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add chili powder, cayenne, or hot sauce.

  • Use chicken thighs for a juicier result.

  • For a smoky flavor, use smoked paprika or a smoky BBQ sauce.

  • Add pineapple or honey for a sweet twist.

  • Perfect for batch cooking — it freezes and reheats well.
