Description
Roasted cinnamon buttery pears are a simple, elegant dessert featuring ripe pears baked with a spiced buttery glaze until tender and caramelized. Naturally vegan and gluten-free, they’re warm, cozy, and perfect for both weeknights and special occasions.
Ingredients
- 4 ripe but firm pears (Bosc or Anjou), halved and cored
- 3 tbsp vegan butter
- 2 tbsp maple syrup or brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: chopped nuts, dairy-free ice cream, coconut yogurt, or granola
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small saucepan or bowl, melt vegan butter and stir in maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
- Arrange pear halves cut side up in a baking dish.
- Spoon the cinnamon butter glaze over each pear half, coating well.
- Bake for 25–35 minutes, basting occasionally with pan juices, until pears are tender and caramelized around the edges.
- Serve warm with desired toppings or enjoy as-is.
Notes
- Firm pears like Bosc or Anjou hold up best to roasting.
- Don’t peel the pears unless you prefer a smoother texture—the skin softens while baking.
- Maple syrup makes this dessert refined sugar-free.
- Add nutmeg, ginger, or cardamom for extra spiced depth.
- Serve with dairy-free ice cream, yogurt, or granola for variety.
