Description

Roasted cinnamon buttery pears are a simple, elegant dessert featuring ripe pears baked with a spiced buttery glaze until tender and caramelized. Naturally vegan and gluten-free, they’re warm, cozy, and perfect for both weeknights and special occasions.

Ingredients

  1. 4 ripe but firm pears (Bosc or Anjou), halved and cored
  2. 3 tbsp vegan butter
  3. 2 tbsp maple syrup or brown sugar
  4. 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  5. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  6. Pinch of salt
  7. Optional toppings: chopped nuts, dairy-free ice cream, coconut yogurt, or granola

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  1. In a small saucepan or bowl, melt vegan butter and stir in maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Arrange pear halves cut side up in a baking dish.
  3. Spoon the cinnamon butter glaze over each pear half, coating well.
  4. Bake for 25–35 minutes, basting occasionally with pan juices, until pears are tender and caramelized around the edges.
  5. Serve warm with desired toppings or enjoy as-is.

Notes

  1. Firm pears like Bosc or Anjou hold up best to roasting.
  2. Don’t peel the pears unless you prefer a smoother texture—the skin softens while baking.
  3. Maple syrup makes this dessert refined sugar-free.
  4. Add nutmeg, ginger, or cardamom for extra spiced depth.
  5. Serve with dairy-free ice cream, yogurt, or granola for variety.
