Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

  3. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  4. 1/2 cup brown sugar
  5. 2 large eggs
  6. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  7. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  8. 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  9. 1/4 tsp salt
  10. 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter (warmed slightly for swirling)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate together in 20–30 second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  2. Whisk in granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until mixture is glossy and well combined.
  3. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Stir gently until just combined—do not overmix.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of warmed peanut butter over the batter. Swirl gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares for clean edges.

Notes

  • Do not overbake—fudgy brownies are achieved by pulling them out when slightly underdone.
