Description

Red Velvet Dip is a no-bake, creamy dessert dip made with red velvet cake mix, cream cheese, and whipped topping, offering all the nostalgic flavor of red velvet cake in a quick and easy spreadable form.

Ingredients

  1. 1 box red velvet cake mix (15.25 oz)
  2. 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  3. 8 oz whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  4. 24 tbsp milk or heavy cream (optional, for thinning)
  5. 24 tbsp powdered sugar (optional, to taste)
  6. 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

Heat treat the red velvet cake mix by microwaving it in a microwave-safe bowl for 30–60 seconds, stirring halfway through. Let it cool completely.

  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the cooled cake mix to the cream cheese and mix until fully combined.
  3. Fold in the whipped topping until the dip is light and fluffy.
  4. If needed, add milk or heavy cream, one tablespoon at a time, to reach desired consistency.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness with powdered sugar if desired. Add vanilla extract for enhanced flavor.
  6. Transfer to a serving bowl and chill for 20–30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Always heat treat the cake mix before using to make it safe to eat raw.
  • For a richer flavor, add mini chocolate chips or a tablespoon of cocoa powder.
  • Customize with festive toppings like sprinkles, crushed cookies, or nuts.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days and stir before re-serving.
  • Use dairy-free alternatives for a vegan-friendly version.
