Description

Quick Mug Cake Desserts are the ultimate easy solution for a fast, single-serving treat. Made in just minutes in the microwave, these desserts come in endless flavor variations, from chocolate to vanilla to fruity delights.

Ingredients

  1. 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    4 tablespoons granulated sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder (for chocolate cakes)
    1/8 teaspoon baking powder
    Pinch of salt
3 tablespoons milk (or dairy-free alternative)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (or melted butter)
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
    Optional mix-ins:
    2 tablespoons chocolate chips
    1 tablespoon peanut butter
A few fresh or frozen berries
A spoonful of Nutella or caramel sauce

Instructions

Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder (if using), baking powder, and salt until fully combined.

  1. Add the Wet Ingredients: Add the milk, vegetable oil (or butter), and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until smooth and fully incorporated. The batter should be thick but pourable.
  2. Optional Add-ins: Stir in any additional mix-ins such as chocolate chips, peanut butter, berries, or Nutella.
  3. Microwave: Microwave the mug on high for 1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds. Check the cake at 1 minute—if it’s still wet in the middle, microwave for an additional 15-30 seconds. The cake should rise slightly and firm up but still be moist in the center.
  4. Serve: Allow the mug cake to cool for a couple of minutes before digging in. You can enjoy it straight from the mug or top with whipped cream, a scoop of ice cream, or a drizzle of chocolate or caramel sauce.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add chocolate chips or swirl in Nutella before microwaving.
  • For a vanilla version, skip the cocoa powder and top with whipped cream or sprinkles.
  • If you’re making a chocolate mug cake, feel free to top with more chocolate or ice cream.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to a day, but these are best enjoyed fresh.
