Ingredients

Oreo Cookies

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted & cooled)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled, not packed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon milk of choice (only if needed if mixture is crumbly)
  • 10-12 Oreos (chopped up)

Oreo Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4-5 Oreos (chopped)
  • Milk (if needed to thin frosting)
  • Optional: More Oreos chopped to put on top of cookies

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted and cooled butter with granulated and powdered sugars using a mixer until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well to combine all wet ingredients.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. If dough feels crumbly, add a tablespoon of milk to bring the dough together.
  4. Add Oreo Pieces to Dough: Fold in the chopped Oreos gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
  5. Scoop and Bake: Using a large cookie scoop, place dough balls evenly spaced on the lined baking sheet. Bake for 12-16 minutes, until the tops are set and not wet.
  6. Cool Cookies: Allow the cookies to rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes after baking, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
  7. Prepare Frosting: In a clean large bowl, mix softened cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy using a mixer. Fold in chopped Oreos. If frosting is too thick, add a splash of milk to achieve desired consistency.
  8. Frost Cookies: Once cookies are fully cooled, spread the Oreo cream cheese frosting on the cookies using an offset spatula. Optionally, garnish with additional chopped Oreos for extra texture and flavor.
  9. Serve and Enjoy: Serve your delicious Oreo Cookies with Oreo Cream Cheese Frosting immediately or store properly to enjoy later.

Notes

  • If the cookie dough is too crumbly, add milk one tablespoon at a time until it binds properly.
  • Make sure cookies are completely cooled before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • The frosting can be thinned with milk as needed to achieve a spreadable texture.
  • For a firmer frosting, refrigerate it for 15-20 minutes before spreading on cookies.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
