Ingredients
Oreo Cookies
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted & cooled)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (spooned & leveled, not packed)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon milk of choice (only if needed if mixture is crumbly)
- 10-12 Oreos (chopped up)
Oreo Cream Cheese Frosting
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
- 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4-5 Oreos (chopped)
- Milk (if needed to thin frosting)
- Optional: More Oreos chopped to put on top of cookies
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted and cooled butter with granulated and powdered sugars using a mixer until creamy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well to combine all wet ingredients.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. If dough feels crumbly, add a tablespoon of milk to bring the dough together.
- Add Oreo Pieces to Dough: Fold in the chopped Oreos gently, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
- Scoop and Bake: Using a large cookie scoop, place dough balls evenly spaced on the lined baking sheet. Bake for 12-16 minutes, until the tops are set and not wet.
- Cool Cookies: Allow the cookies to rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes after baking, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
- Prepare Frosting: In a clean large bowl, mix softened cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy using a mixer. Fold in chopped Oreos. If frosting is too thick, add a splash of milk to achieve desired consistency.
- Frost Cookies: Once cookies are fully cooled, spread the Oreo cream cheese frosting on the cookies using an offset spatula. Optionally, garnish with additional chopped Oreos for extra texture and flavor.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve your delicious Oreo Cookies with Oreo Cream Cheese Frosting immediately or store properly to enjoy later.
Notes
- If the cookie dough is too crumbly, add milk one tablespoon at a time until it binds properly.
- Make sure cookies are completely cooled before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
- The frosting can be thinned with milk as needed to achieve a spreadable texture.
- For a firmer frosting, refrigerate it for 15-20 minutes before spreading on cookies.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
