Description

Nutty Banana Bread is a moist and flavorful loaf made with ripe bananas and crunchy nuts. The golden-brown, slightly crispy exterior and tender interior make it the perfect breakfast or afternoon snack. Simple to make, this loaf combines natural sweetness and a satisfying crunch, making it a family favorite.

Ingredients

  1. 3 ripe bananas, mashed
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    1 cup granulated sugar
    2 large eggs
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (or a mix of both)
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the mashed bananas and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in the chopped nuts, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few crumbs attached.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Slice and enjoy your freshly baked Nutty Banana Bread!

Notes

  1. For a twist, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips for a sweet touch.
  2. For a vegan version, substitute the eggs with flax eggs and use plant-based butter.
  3. For extra spice, add 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg or cloves.
  4. For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free flour blend and adjust the baking time slightly.
  5. For added sweetness, incorporate raisins, cranberries, or chopped dates.
