The golden-brown, slightly crispy exterior and tender interior make it the perfect breakfast or afternoon snack. Simple to make, this loaf combines natural sweetness and a satisfying crunch, making it a family favorite.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (or a mix of both)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
 - Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the mashed bananas and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
 - In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
 - Fold in the chopped nuts, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
 - Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
 - Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few crumbs attached.
 - Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
 - Slice and enjoy your freshly baked Nutty Banana Bread!

Notes
- For a twist, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips for a sweet touch.
 - For a vegan version, substitute the eggs with flax eggs and use plant-based butter.
 - For extra spice, add 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg or cloves.
 - For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free flour blend and adjust the baking time slightly.
 - For added sweetness, incorporate raisins, cranberries, or chopped dates.
