Description

Nutella Pizza is a decadent dessert pizza featuring a soft, pillowy crust, rich Nutella spread, and customizable toppings like fresh fruit, marshmallows, and whipped cream. It’s the perfect treat for sharing at parties or simply indulging in a sweet craving.

Ingredients

  1. For the Pizza Dough:
1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (about 110°F/43°C)
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1 tablespoon granulated sugar
    2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    For the Toppings:
1/2 cup Nutella (or more, to taste)
1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced (or other fruits like bananas, raspberries, or blueberries)
1/4 cup mini marshmallows (optional, for a s’mores-style pizza)
Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream (optional, for serving)
Chopped hazelnuts or almonds (optional, for added crunch)

Instructions

For the Pizza Dough:

    1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, until it becomes foamy.
    2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms, then knead on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
    3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  1. Assembling the Nutella Pizza:
    1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you’re using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats for an extra crispy crust.
    2. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out into a round shape, about 12 inches in diameter. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (or a preheated pizza stone, if using).
    3. Bake the pizza dough in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through. If you prefer a crispier crust, bake for an extra 2-3 minutes.
  2. Topping the Pizza:
    1. Once the crust is baked and slightly cooled, spread a generous layer of Nutella over the top, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
    2. Arrange the sliced strawberries (or any other fruit you like) over the Nutella layer. If using marshmallows, scatter them over the pizza, and then place the pizza back in the oven for another 1-2 minutes to toast the marshmallows slightly.
    3. After the pizza is topped and fully assembled, sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts or almonds for a crunchy texture. You can also add a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
  3. Slice and Serve:
    1. Slice the Nutella pizza into wedges, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

  1. Feel free to add a variety of fruit toppings like bananas, raspberries, or pineapple for different flavors.
  2. If you prefer a crispy crust, use a pizza stone and preheat it in the oven.
  3. This dessert can be easily customized with your favorite toppings such as chocolate chips, marshmallows, or nuts.
  4. For an even richer pizza, drizzle some extra Nutella over the top after baking for an extra indulgent treat.
