Description

Nonnie’s 5 Ingredient Peach Dump is a simple, comforting dessert featuring juicy peaches baked with butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and bourbon. Topped with buttery cinnamon-sugar brioche crumbs, this easy-to-make dish is perfect for showcasing ripe peaches in a quick, delicious treat that pairs wonderfully with ice cream.

Ingredients

Peach Mixture

  • 8-10 ripe peaches, pitted and halved
  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) salted butter, cubed
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon (optional)

Brioche Crumb Topping

  • 4 slices brioche bread, torn or pulsed into fine crumbs (about 2 cups)
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted
  • 2-5 tablespoons cinnamon sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350° F (175° C) to prepare for baking the peaches and crumb topping.
  2. Arrange and prepare peaches: Place the peaches in a large baking dish. Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the peaches, then dot with the cubed salted butter. Drizzle the vanilla extract and bourbon (if using) over the mixture to enhance flavors.
  3. Bake the peaches: Bake the peach mixture for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, until the peaches are soft and the sauce is bubbling around them, releasing rich aromas.
  4. Make breadcrumb topping: While the peaches bake, combine the torn or pulsed brioche crumbs with the melted butter and cinnamon sugar. Spread this mixture onto a baking sheet.
  5. Toast the crumbs: Bake the breadcrumbs in the oven for 10-15 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning. The crumbs should be golden and toasted.
  6. Serve: Remove the peaches from the oven, discard any remaining pits, and spoon the warm peaches and sauce into serving bowls. Top generously with the toasted cinnamon-sugar brioche crumbs. Enjoy with a scoop of ice cream if desired.

Notes

  • Use ripe, fresh peaches for the best flavor and juiciness in this dessert.
  • The bourbon is optional but adds a nice depth of flavor; feel free to omit for a non-alcoholic version.
  • Keep a close eye on the breadcrumb topping as it bakes to avoid burning.
  • This dessert is best served warm and pairs beautifully with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • You can substitute brioche bread crumbs with other soft bread crumbs, but brioche adds a buttery richness.
