These mini pies feature a flaky crust, sweet spiced apple filling, and a golden finish. Perfect for parties, picnics, or as a fun dessert, these easy-to-make mini apple pies are sure to become a favorite!

Ingredients

1 package of refrigerated pie crusts

3 cups apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon butter (cut into small pieces)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Roll out pie crusts and use a 4-inch round cutter to cut circles large enough to fit into a muffin tin. Press dough into the muffin cups, ensuring edges are flush with sides.

  • In a bowl, mix chopped apples, sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch.

  • Spoon apple mixture into each muffin cup, filling them generously.

  • Dot with butter pieces.

  • Cut strips of pie dough and create a lattice pattern on top, or cover with a full dough piece and make slits for ventilation.

  • Brush the tops with beaten egg for a shiny, golden finish.

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the crust is golden and filling is bubbly.

  • Remove from oven and cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Variations: Add a pinch of cloves or allspice for extra flavor, drizzle with caramel sauce for a rich twist, or mix in berries for a fruity change.

  • Vegan Option: Use dairy-free butter and a plant-based egg substitute.
