Description

Milo Crackles are a crunchy, chocolatey treat made with rice bubbles, Milo powder, and a sweet syrup mixture. These no-bake treats are easy to make and perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

  1. For the Crackles:
1 1/2 cups rice bubbles (or puffed rice)
    1/2 cup Milo powder
    1/2 cup desiccated coconut (optional)
    1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup honey or golden syrup
    1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

Prepare the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice bubbles, Milo powder, and desiccated coconut (if using). Stir to evenly distribute.

  1. Melt the wet ingredients: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the honey or golden syrup and powdered sugar. Stir continuously until the mixture becomes smooth and well-combined.
  2. Combine the wet and dry ingredients: Pour the melted butter and sugar mixture into the rice bubbles mixture. Stir well until everything is fully coated with the syrup mixture.
  3. Shape the crackles: Spoon the mixture into paper cupcake liners or a lined muffin tray, pressing it down lightly to form small clusters. You can also spread the mixture into a baking dish and cut it into squares once it sets.
  4. Chill the crackles: Place the tray in the refrigerator and allow the Milo Crackles to chill for about 1-2 hours, or until they firm up and hold their shape.
  5. Serve: Once set, remove the crackles from the liners or tray, and they’re ready to serve!

Notes

  1. You can add nuts like cashews or almonds to the mixture for extra crunch.
  2. For an extra layer of sweetness, drizzle melted chocolate over the top of each crackle.
