Description
Milo Crackles are a crunchy, chocolatey treat made with rice bubbles, Milo powder, and a sweet syrup mixture. These no-bake treats are easy to make and perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.
Ingredients
- For the Crackles:
1 1/2 cups rice bubbles (or puffed rice)
1/2 cup Milo powder
1/2 cup desiccated coconut (optional)
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup honey or golden syrup
1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
Prepare the dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice bubbles, Milo powder, and desiccated coconut (if using). Stir to evenly distribute.
- Melt the wet ingredients: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the honey or golden syrup and powdered sugar. Stir continuously until the mixture becomes smooth and well-combined.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients: Pour the melted butter and sugar mixture into the rice bubbles mixture. Stir well until everything is fully coated with the syrup mixture.
- Shape the crackles: Spoon the mixture into paper cupcake liners or a lined muffin tray, pressing it down lightly to form small clusters. You can also spread the mixture into a baking dish and cut it into squares once it sets.
- Chill the crackles: Place the tray in the refrigerator and allow the Milo Crackles to chill for about 1-2 hours, or until they firm up and hold their shape.
- Serve: Once set, remove the crackles from the liners or tray, and they’re ready to serve!
Notes
- You can add nuts like cashews or almonds to the mixture for extra crunch.
- For an extra layer of sweetness, drizzle melted chocolate over the top of each crackle.
