Ingredients
Mango Layer
- 2 cups mango puree
- 1 teaspoon gelatin
- 2 tablespoons warm water
Cream Layer
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1.5 teaspoons gelatin
- 2 tablespoons warm water
Garnish
- Fresh mango slices for topping
Instructions
- Bloom gelatin for mango layer: In a small bowl, add 2 tablespoons of warm water. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of gelatin over the water and let it sit for about 10 minutes to soften.
- Heat mango puree with gelatin: Warm the mango puree in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the bloomed gelatin and stir until completely dissolved.
- Set mango layer: Tilt serving glasses at a 45-degree angle and pour in the mango mixture. Refrigerate for about 4 hours until set firmly.
- Bloom gelatin for cream layer: In another small bowl, add 2 tablespoons of warm water and sprinkle 1.5 teaspoons of gelatin over it. Let it bloom for 10 minutes.
- Prepare milk and cream mixture: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the whole milk, heavy cream, and sugar. Gently simmer, stirring occasionally, until all sugar dissolves, but do not let it boil.
- Add gelatin to cream mixture: Remove from heat and mix in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved. Let the mixture cool for 10-15 minutes to room temperature.
- Pour cream layer over mango: Once the mango layer is set, gently pour the cooled milk and cream mixture on top.
- Chill until fully set: Refrigerate the glasses for at least 4 hours or until the panna cotta layers are firm.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh mango slices and serve chilled for a refreshing dessert.
Notes
- Use fully ripe mangoes for the best flavor in the puree.
- Make sure the gelatin is fully dissolved to avoid lumps.
- Do not boil the milk and cream mixture to prevent curdling.
- Tilting the glasses when setting the mango layer creates a beautiful angled effect that’s visually appealing.
- This dessert can be prepared up to two days in advance and stored covered in the refrigerator.
