Ingredients
Brownie Base
- 1 1/2 cups Butter (3 sticks, melted)
- 3 cups Sugar
- 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 5 large Eggs
- 1 1/2 cups Flour
- 3/4 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 3/4 teaspoon Salt
Chocolate Frosting
- 1/2 cup Butter (1 stick, melted)
- 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1/4 cup Light Corn Syrup
- 3 cups Powdered Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 3 to 4 Tablespoons Milk or Heavy Cream
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on two sides for easy lifting, or lightly spray the pan with non-stick cooking spray. It is recommended to use an aluminum pan rather than a glass one for best results.
- Prepare Brownie Batter: Melt the butter either in the microwave in a microwave-safe bowl or over medium-low heat in a pot. In a mixing bowl, whisk the melted butter with the sugar until smooth. Add the cocoa powder and vanilla extract, whisking to combine. Next, add the eggs and continue whisking until the mixture is fully combined. Finally, fold in the flour, baking powder, and salt until just incorporated, being careful not to overmix.
- Bake Brownies: Pour the batter into the prepared 9×13 pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 28 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs but no wet batter. Avoid overbaking to maintain a fudgy texture. Allow the brownies to cool completely.
- Prepare Chocolate Frosting: While the brownies are cooling, melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in the cocoa powder, milk, vanilla extract, and light corn syrup until the mixture is smooth. Gradually whisk in the powdered sugar until the frosting becomes thick and glossy. If needed, add more milk or heavy cream to achieve a silky, spreadable consistency.
- Frost the Brownies: Spread the prepared chocolate frosting evenly over the cooled brownies. Let the frosting set by allowing the brownies to cool fully before cutting into 24 servings.
Notes
- Use an aluminum pan instead of a glass pan to achieve better baking results and texture.
- Do not overbake to keep brownies fudgy and moist.
- Adjust milk or heavy cream in frosting to get the desired smoothness for easy spreading.
- Allow brownies to cool completely before frosting to prevent melting.
- Use parchment paper with overhang for easy lifting and clean removal of brownies from pan.
