Description
Lazy Peach Cobbler is a quick and easy dessert featuring juicy peaches and a buttery, sweet topping that bakes into a golden, cake-like texture, perfect for busy days or last-minute gatherings.
Ingredients
- Canned or fresh peaches (sliced)
- Butter (melted)
- Sugar (granulated)
- Self‑rising flour (or all-purpose flour with baking powder and salt)
- Milk
- Cinnamon (optional)
- Vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Pour the sliced peaches (with juice) into a greased baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix the sugar, self‑rising flour, milk, and melted butter until smooth. Add cinnamon and vanilla extract if desired.
- Pour the batter over the peaches, ensuring it’s evenly spread across the top. The batter will rise over the peaches as it bakes.
- Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cobbler is bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy as-is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
Notes
- Can be made with frozen peaches—just thaw and drain before using.
- Peeling the peaches is optional; the skins add texture and flavor.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or frozen for 2–3 months.
- For a crispier topping, increase sugar or add brown sugar.
- Can also be made with other fruits like apples, berries, or mixed fruit.
