Description
A refreshing and creamy Iced Salted Honey Vanilla Matcha Latte made with vibrant matcha green tea, sweet manuka honey, aromatic vanilla, a pinch of mineral salt, and your choice of milk, served chilled over ice and optionally topped with bee pollen for an extra boost of flavor and nutrients.
Ingredients
Matcha Base
- 1-2 teaspoons matcha powder
- 1/4 cup warm water
Milk Mixture
- 3/4 cup milk of choice (coconut milk recommended)
- 1/2-1 tablespoon manuka honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract)
- Pinch of mineral salt (or regular salt)
Toppings
- Bee pollen (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Matcha: Sift the matcha powder over a matcha bowl or small mixing bowl. Add the warm water. Using a bamboo whisk or hand frother, whisk the matcha and water together in a zig-zag motion until the matcha is fully dissolved and a smooth, frothy mixture forms.
- Mix Milk Base: In a blender or with a hand frother, combine the milk of choice, pinch of mineral salt, manuka honey, and vanilla bean paste. Blend or froth until the ingredients are well combined and slightly frothy.
- Assemble the Latte: Fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour the prepared matcha mixture into the glass, then carefully pour the milk mixture over the matcha to create a layered effect.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle bee pollen on top if using. Stir gently to combine all flavors before drinking. Enjoy your iced salted honey vanilla matcha latte!
Notes
- Use high-quality ceremonial grade matcha powder for the best flavor and smooth texture.
- Adjust honey amount to taste depending on desired sweetness.
- Vanilla bean paste offers a richer taste than vanilla extract but both work well.
- Any plant-based or dairy milk can be used — coconut milk gives a creamy texture and subtle sweetness.
- Bee pollen adds a nutritional boost but is optional if you have allergies or prefer not to use it.
- For a hot version, skip the ice and warm the milk mixture before combining.
