Description
Ice Cream Sandwich Cake is a no-bake, layered dessert made with classic ice cream sandwiches, whipped topping, chocolate sauce, and fun toppings. It’s quick to assemble and perfect for parties, birthdays, or hot summer days.
Ingredients
- 12–16 ice cream sandwiches (classic vanilla with chocolate wafers)
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip), thawed
- 1/2 cup hot fudge or chocolate syrup
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce (optional)
- 1/3 cup crushed cookies, toffee bits, or mini chocolate chips
- Optional: sprinkles or other decorations
Instructions
- Unwrap the ice cream sandwiches and arrange a single layer in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish. Trim sandwiches if necessary to fit.
- Spread half of the whipped topping evenly over the sandwiches.
- Drizzle with hot fudge and caramel sauce, if using.
- Add a second layer of ice cream sandwiches on top.
- Spread the remaining whipped topping evenly over the top.
- Sprinkle with crushed cookies, mini chips, or other toppings of your choice.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
- Slice and serve directly from the freezer. Let sit at room temperature for 5 minutes if too firm to cut.
Notes
- Use a serrated knife to cut clean slices after freezing.
- Customize with different sandwich flavors or toppings for themed occasions.
- Store leftovers tightly covered in the freezer for up to 1 week.
- If using homemade whipped cream, stabilize it with gelatin or cream cheese to help it hold up in the freezer.
- For extra richness, layer in peanut butter, Nutella, or marshmallow fluff.
