Description

Homemade Mango Iced Tea is a refreshing and fruity drink that combines the bold flavor of black tea with the natural sweetness of ripe mangoes. This simple, healthier iced tea is perfect for hot summer days or when hosting a gathering. Made with real fruit and customizable sweetness, it’s a crowd-pleaser everyone will love.

Ingredients

2 black tea bags or 2 teaspoons loose leaf black tea

4 cups water, divided

1 ripe mango, peeled and diced (or use frozen mango cubes or mango nectar)

2 tablespoons honey (or adjust to taste; sugar or agave syrup also work)

Ice cubes

Optional: Fresh mango slices for garnish

Instructions

the Tea: Boil 2 cups of water. Pour over the tea bags in a heat-safe pitcher or bowl. Let steep for 10 minutes, then remove the tea bags.

  • Cook the Mango: In a saucepan, combine diced mango and the remaining 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring and mashing to soften the mango.

  • Strain and Combine: Strain the mango mixture into the pitcher with the tea using a fine sieve or cheesecloth. Press to extract all the juice. Stir in honey until fully dissolved.

  • Chill and Serve: Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold. Serve over ice and garnish with mango slices if desired

Notes

  • you can use frozen mango instead of fresh mango.

  • For a sugar-free version, omit the sweetener or use a sugar substitute like stevia or monk fruit.

  • Customize the drink with citrus (lemon or lime), spices (ginger or cinnamon), or a tropical twist (pineapple or coconut water).

  • If you like a pulpy texture, skip straining the mango.
