Description

Grilled Salmon with Avocado Salsa combines tender, smoky salmon with a fresh and creamy avocado salsa for a light and flavorful meal. Perfect for a healthy dinner or an impressive dish for guests, this easy recipe is quick to prepare and packed with vibrant flavors. Ideal for summer grilling or any time you’re craving a nutritious, satisfying meal that’s both gluten-free and low in carbs.

Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless, as per preference)

2 avocados, diced

1 medium tomato, diced

1 small red onion, finely diced

1 lime, juiced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

1 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

  • Drizzle olive oil over the salmon fillets and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using).

  • Once the grill is hot, place the salmon fillets on the grill, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets. Grill for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and the salmon flakes easily with a fork.

  • While the salmon grills, prepare the avocado salsa by combining the diced avocados, tomato, red onion, cilantro, and lime juice in a medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Once the salmon is cooked, remove from the grill and plate it.

  • Top the grilled salmon fillets with the avocado salsa and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For added heat, you can include diced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce in the avocado salsa.

  • Serve on a bed of greens like arugula or spinach for extra crunch.

  • Use orange or lemon juice instead of lime for a different citrus twist.

  • For a dairy variation, sprinkle crumbled feta or cotija cheese on the salsa.
