Description
A light and airy German dessert combining the tangy creaminess of quark with the smooth richness of whipped cream, sweetened with sugar and flavored with vanilla, then mixed with fresh strawberries. This simple no-bake treat is perfect for a quick and refreshing dessert.
Ingredients
Dairy
- 1 ¾ cup (500g) Quark
- 1 ⅔ cup (400g) Heavy whipping cream
Sweeteners & Flavorings
- 1 ½ cups (150g) Sugar
- 1-2 tsp Vanilla extract (or 3 tsp Vanilla sugar)
Fruits
- 2 ½ cups (500g) Strawberries
Instructions
- Whip Cream and Sugar: Combine the heavy whipping cream and sugar in a mixing bowl and beat on medium-high speed until the mixture thickens but is not fully stiff. This creates a lightly whipped base that will blend smoothly with the quark.
- Add Quark and Vanilla: Add the quark and the vanilla extract or vanilla sugar to the whipped cream mixture. Beat until the mixture thickens further and is well combined, creating a creamy, fluffy texture.
- Mix in Strawberries and Serve: Gently fold the fresh strawberries into the quark and cream mixture until evenly distributed. Serve the dessert immediately for the best texture and freshness.
Notes
- IMPORTANT! This dessert should be eaten immediately after mixing the strawberries with the cream to prevent the cream from becoming watery.
- Keep the quark, whipped cream, and strawberries refrigerated separately and combine them just before serving, ideally within 1-2 days.
- Using fresh, ripe strawberries will enhance the flavor and make the dessert more refreshing.
