Description

Homemade fruit roll-ups are a healthy, customizable snack made with real fruit. These sweet, tangy treats are perfect for kids and adults alike and are free from artificial colors and preservatives.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups of fresh or frozen fruit (such as strawberries, mangoes, or mixed berries)
  2. 12 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, depending on your desired sweetness)
  3. 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  4. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 170°F (77°C) or the lowest temperature your oven can go.

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine the fruit, honey or maple syrup (if using), lemon juice, and vanilla extract (if using). Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the fruit puree onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Use a spatula to spread it out into an even layer, about 1/8-inch thick.
  3. Place the baking sheet in the oven and let it dry for 4-6 hours, or until the fruit leather is no longer sticky to the touch. Check periodically to make sure it’s not getting too hard.
  4. Once done, remove the sheet from the oven and let it cool completely.
  5. Once cooled, cut the fruit leather into strips using kitchen scissors or a sharp knife. Roll them up and wrap them in parchment paper or plastic wrap for storage.

Notes

  1. For tropical fruit roll-ups, try using mango, pineapple, and coconut milk for a unique flavor.
  2. If you prefer a berry-citrus flavor, blend strawberries, blueberries, and orange juice.
  3. You can add spices like cinnamon or ginger for an extra flavor twist.
  4. These fruit roll-ups can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1-2 weeks at room temperature or refrigerated for up to 3 weeks.
