Description

Easy Sweet Hummus is a quick, creamy dessert dip made from chickpeas and natural sweeteners, flavored with cocoa, cinnamon, or nut butter for a wholesome twist on a treat.


Ingredients

  1. 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  2. 34 tbsp cocoa or cacao powder (for chocolate version)
  3. 34 tbsp almond butter (for snickerdoodle version)
  4. 34 tbsp maple syrup, honey, or agave
  5. 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  6. 1/21 tsp ground cinnamon (for snickerdoodle version)
  7. Pinch of salt
  8. 24 tbsp water or non-dairy milk, as needed

Instructions

Place chickpeas and all chosen flavor ingredients into a food processor or high-speed blender.

  1. Blend until completely smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
  2. If too thick, add water or non-dairy milk a tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetness or spice levels as desired.
  4. Transfer to a serving bowl and smooth the top before serving.

Notes

  1. Rinse chickpeas well to remove excess sodium and improve flavor.
  2. Peanut butter can be substituted for almond butter in the snickerdoodle version.
  3. Top with chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or a drizzle of nut butter for extra flavor.
  4. Pairs well with apple slices, strawberries, graham crackers, or rice cakes.
